On March 22nd at 7:00pm the Honda Grand Prix Event in downtown St. Pete kicks off with a Night Parade.  Club members will participate in the parade using the City Cycle.  City Cycle is a unique pedal powered party on wheels that holds 14 people. The City Cycle is a non-motorized, eco-friendly pedal powered bus that provides a healthy way to participate in the parade.    Click on the images below to see the Pedal Pub vehicle we will be riding on.  Be sure to look for us on the parade route. Members of the Mt. Dora Lawn Bowling Club will be visiting our club on March 24th!  We will play 10 bowl games in the morning.  St. Pete members are planning a fantastic lunch for this event.  After lunch everyone will play another 10 games!   Come join the fun..... get involved!






Asheville Lawn Bowling Club Member Bill Cooke stopped by our club while visiting Florida.  He enjoyed the morning playing a few games with club members.  We really enjoy having visitors to our club!  Below are a few images of our fun morning.  Click to View IMAGES.






On December 8th club members Audrey & Bob Shane, Lillian Rodseth, Donna Bergner, Ann Gleason and Carol & John Woermer traveled to Mt. Dora, Florida and toured the Mt. Dora Lawn Bowling Club.  Mt. Dora's members greeted them with open arms and gave them a fantastic tour of their beautiful club.  Afterward the St. Pete group went out for a nice dinner and vistited downtown Mt. Dora.  They went through many wonderful shops and saw fantastic Christmas lights.  Mt. Dora club members are coming to visit the St. Petersburg Lawn Bowling Club on Martch 24th!






David Bryant is the holder of 20 World & Commonwealth titles.  He represented England at outdoor & indoor bowls throughout the world for over 35 years.  He was England Team Captain from 1993 - 1996.

David and his team came to our club on November 8th and again on November 22nd!  Club members played a few games with David and his team.  David's team won!  After a few games they all had a great lunch followed by a good time.  We want to thank David and his team for stopping by the St. Petersburg Lawn Bowling Club!






Recently, club members hosted a 'Mystery Club'.  There were approximately 20 people that attended this event.  People attending do not know what they are going to do until the last minute.  Most of the people that came had never bowled before.  Everyone had a great time.






Club members expressed to the Mayjor the need to repair the outside of the clubhouse.  They pointed out that the St. Petersburg Lawn Bowling club an historic building in St. Petersburg and that the club is attracting international visitors. Club members stated that they would appreciate help from the City of St. Petersburg to complete outside repairs before the internatinal visitors arrive in late November 2011.






On Monday, March 21, 2011 the St. Petersburg Lawn Bowling Club held it's General Annual Meeting.  A new board was elected.

Other club business was discussed and approved by members.  We all made a plan to be back early to greet the Englsih Lawn Bowlers that will arrive in November.  We also discussed completely remodeling the men's restroom and the ladies restroom will get a new coat of paint.






In November 2011 the St. Petersburg Lawn Bowling Club will be hosting an English lawn bowls group at our club.  They will be visiting clubs throughout the United States and will be stopping by our club several times in November.  Details to follow!






A wedding rehearsal was held at our clubhouse.  Club members taught the wedding party and 40 guests how to bowl before the reshearsal dinner.

It turned out to be a great success.  Club members got a standing ovation from the guests for their efforts.  And a wonderful time was had by all.
